Through its themes of friendship and love, the tale of Bao Bao the Baby Panda unfolds. Animals possess a unique capacity to connect children and adults. My hope is that Bao Bao can inspire global unity among children.

May children continue to be curious and open to new friendships. Whether we are oceans apart, we can still be connected at the heart!

The Bao Bao Story

Sylvia and Eva, the inspiration for the book.

I had the privilege of teaching English to Sylvia and Eva online in 2020-2021. The girls are sisters and they are both beautiful and talented. The entire family was the inspiration for this book. The girls’ mother often said to me, “If you ever come to China, we would love to show you around.” Although we have never met in person, we share messages and pictures. We are oceans apart, but hope to meet one day. The family currently lives in Hong Kong.

Welcome to the website of new children's book author, Lillian S. Pagano. Here, you'll find delightful stories that inspire courage, kindness, and new friendships. Join Bao Bao, the Baby Panda, on her heartwarming adventures, and let your child's imagination soar.

Bao Bao, the Baby Panda is an inspiring story about an eight-year-old girl named Sylvia who witnesses a Giant Panda Bear giving birth at the Beijing Zoo in China. Sylvia shares stories and pictures of Bao Bao as she changes from a newborn to a cub with her online English teacher from America.

When Sylvia learns of Bao Bao’s upcoming transfer to the San Diego Zoo in California, she is heart-broken. Will Sylvia be able to figure out a plan to see her beloved new friend again?

Dedication: This book is dedicated to children all around the world.

May you always have courage, kindness, and be open to new

friendships and adventures!
